In General, the hard disk is damaged by major categories can be divided into the soft hard damage and damage.

Hard damage including head component damage, control circuit damage, comprehensive damage and sector physical damage (most people call it the physical bad road).

Head Assembly is damaged: mainly refers to the hard disk head component part is damaged, resulting in some or all of the head does not read and write.
